Since 1927, VMV Paducahbilt has
rebuilt, repaired or remanufactured tens of thousands of
locomotives. When
your locomotive pulls into the VMV Paducahbilt Shop to be
remanufactured, it is disassembled down to the frame and its
components are distributed throughout the shop to be qualified
and replaced as needed. Mechanical, electrical and
rotating equipment parts are remanufactured using today's
finest technology. The mainframe, cab, long hood and
truck frames are sandblasted, checked for wear, repaired and
completely painted. Remanufacturing
will increase performance and add 15 to 20 years to the life
of your locomotive, overhauls add 7 to 9 years.
Statistics indicate the reliability on our remanufactured
units perform "better than new." And
remanufacturing costs are about 60% of a new locomotive. All
VMV Paducahbilt locomotives are thoroughly load tested and put
on a diligent test run. Under real world conditions, our
quality control inspector checks the locomotive's onboard
performance and carefully notes results. Final
adjustments are made and your locomotive is ready. |
